With all of the controversy surrounding Joe Rogan and his podcast, many are beginning to wonder who might be behind this ongoing attack.
Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, pointed out a thread on Twitter that digs deeper into the “Rogan propaganda videos”. Portnoy experienced a similar situation in the past, noting that the “the account that always resurfaced old out of context clips of ours” is the same for Rogan.
The thread was created by Twitter user Wokal Distance, who claims the situation is a “professional political attack”. “Three waves one right after the other is not a coincidence. Good spacing, good timing, so it’s absolutely professional”.
The user continued the 17-part thread, first pointing out who posted the compilation video of Rogan using the N-word. PatriotTakes took credit for “republishing” the video and released a statement in response to Rogan’s apology.
Wokal Distance pointed out that PatriotTakes is partnered with MeidasTouch, a Democrat super PAC run by three brothers.
The brothers, Ben, Brett, and Jordan Meisales, “have worked in media and have expertise in understanding and manipulating Media”. “Brett was a social media manager for Ellen Degeneres, and is an expert editor”.
Wokal Distance included information about supervision PACs from Open Secrets, highlighting that “super PACs may raise unlimited sums of money from corporations, unions, associations and individuals, then spend unlimited sums to overtly advocate for or against political candidates”.
As a super PAC, MeidasTouch is able to take in as much money as they want and spend it however they want. They raised “4.7 million for the 2020 cycle and 1.5 Million for the 2022 cycle”.
With all of this information, it’s very likely that MeidasTouch helped PatriotTakes create the N-word video posted online.
Wokal Distance pointed out that, in their response to Rogan’s apology, PatriotTakes bragged “about their millions of views and how they made the video the center of the national conversation”.
“Rogan is the one guy the leftists can’t cancel. If a group could cancel Rogan it would be a MASSIVE show of power,” the user said. People have tried to cancel Rogan for years because they don’t like who he allows on his platform and how he conducts himself.
If this group was able to cancel Joe Rogan, they would be in a very powerful position, or as Wokal Distance puts it, they “would be able to swing a very large stick”.
Wokal Distance said, “If every person who Joe helped out said ‘we are with him and we will tell our audiences to cancel spotify if they cancel Joe’ this would be over in a day”.
“If everyone won’t stand up, we need brave leople to lead organic pushback” they added.
Brett Weinstein of the DarkHorse Podcast tweeted, “Joe Rogan is taking flak because he’s over the target. I support him for the same reason every other person who understands the relationship between a free exchange of ideas and liberty supports him”.
“It needs to be made clear to slotify that if they cave they will pay a significant cost. We have to make that clear. They need to pay a cost for this. If we can do those things I think we can protect a guy who has done so much for so many,” Wokal Distance concluded.
