Sources at Vanderbilt University Medical Center reported to local media outlets that three children who had suffered from gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital and have been pronounced dead. Two Adults were also killed during this making the total death toll 6, including the shooter.

The names and ages of the victims has yet to be disclosed as they are still investigating how it all happened.

The Covenant School is a private Christian school for students in pre-school through the sixth grade, where the students ages range from 5 to 11 years old. Fortunately this school already had implemented an “Active Shooter” program and so at least they could be prepared in some fashion.

On the scene, concerned parents and onlookers gathered in the church parking lot as helicopters and officers monitored the areas as they were waiting for some updates. Our thoughts go out to all involved.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said “I am closely monitoring the tragic situation at Covenant. As we continue to respond, please join us in praying for the school, congregation & Nashville community.

Sen. Thank you to the first responders working on site. Please join us in prayer for those affected.”
