DC Residents Banned From Dancing At Weddings

DC residents can finally have large outdoor weddings with up to 250 people, but there’s a catch. Dancing is strictly prohibited. For the entirety of the wedding guests must remain seated and socially distant from members of other households.

DC mayor Muriel Bowser said in a statement that when patrons get up and dance, their behavior changes. So the dancing ban has been implemented as “an extra layer of saftey”.

“Attendees and guests must remain seated and socially distanced from each other or other household groups,” the order that began Saturday stated.

It’s a great step forward that those looking to wed can invite their entire family for the gathering but it does not good that they can’t get up and interact with the ones they love.

Guests get to observe the wedding and be present, but not share their joy with the other members of their family.
