Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and well-known conservative commentator, has officially been sworn in as Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His appointment, made by President Donald Trump, comes at a critical time when many Americans are demanding greater accountability and transparency from the nation’s top law enforcement agency.

“It is an honor to serve as Deputy Director for the Federal Bureau of Investigation at such a critical time for our nation,” Bongino said. “The American people deserve a justice system that is transparent, accountable, and committed to the rule of law.”

Bongino brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously served with the New York City Police Department before becoming a Secret Service agent, where he protected Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. In recent years, he gained national prominence as the host of The Dan Bongino Show, a widely followed conservative podcast.

FBI Director Kash Patel praised Bongino’s appointment, calling him “a cop’s cop” with a deep commitment to justice. “Dan is a man of integrity and leadership. He is exactly the kind of person we need to help restore faith in the FBI and ensure it remains focused on its core mission,” Patel said.

Bongino has pledged to take decisive action to eliminate political bias within the bureau and restore the FBI’s focus on impartial law enforcement. “The American people deserve a federal law enforcement agency that works for them—not for political interests,” he said.

As Deputy Director, Bongino will oversee the FBI’s daily operations and work alongside Director Patel to implement necessary reforms.
