Ted Cruz: Debate Showed Kamala ‘Is Utterly Incapable Of Defending Her Own Record’

Senator Ted Cruz

The heart of the matter, as highlighted by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, following a recent debate recap, rests in Vice President Kamala Harris’s inability to present her record in the Biden-Harris administration convincingly. His comments came in the latest edition of his ‘Verdict’ podcast, co-hosted by Ben Ferguson. Here, they critically evaluated the contrasting performances of former President Donald Trump and Harris in the now past ABC News debate.

Cruz emphasized on Harris’s strategic bypass of the inquiries dispatched her way, notably by moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, renowned for their affiliations toward Democrats. His discernment honed in on their key inquiry about whether American citizens have fared better under the current administration compared to Trump’s tenure.

Cruz expressed his concern and surprise by Harris’s silence on the issue. She refrained from affirmatively stating that the current state of affairs was better. In stark contrast, neither did she admit to a decline in people’s quality of life. Her stance remained unclear.

Continuing his analysis, Cruz predicted Harris would maintain a low profile until Election Day, employing a metaphor reminiscent of the Groundhog Day tradition. According to him, if the vice president remains unseen until her ‘shadow’ appears on election day, that would be like the hesitant groundhog that only dares to emerge when it sees its shadow.

Cruz even ventured so far as to suggest that this avoidance strategy might work in Harris’s favor. Especially given the media’s favoritism towards Harris, which might allow her to sit back and know she’ll be portrayed favourably, no matter the circumstances of her actions.

In an unexpected twist, however, he added that regardless of the media’s strong favoritism for Harris, they would likely defend her even if she were to have a public emotional outburst. Any event involving her, he jested, might be spun as a win, even if she were ‘to fall to the ground, start screaming and wailing and kicking her feet in the air’.

Therefore, in Cruz’s perspective, the narrative was predecided. Yet, he articulated that this certainly didn’t take away from the key piece of information that came through. He noted that Kamala simply doesn’t have an adequate response to questions about her official record.

Concluding his critical analysis, Cruz asserted that the debate had revealed a significant flaw: Harris’s apparent incapacity to defend her own professional journey. This, he believes, could be a major issue moving forward.

According to Cruz’s observation, Harris was unable to justifiably declare that the current state of ordinary Americans was visibly improved under her and Biden’s administration when compared to four years back. This stance, or lack thereof, was one of the many insightful points Cruz highlighted on his podcast.

Reverting to classic political rhetoric over substantial policy discussions seemed to be Harris’s fallback strategy during the debate. This observation was consistent with her inability to address more pressing questions head-on and provide satisfactory responses about her role and responsibilities within the current government.

Analysed under the critical eye of Cruz, this submission to stock phrases seemed an avoidance tactic, casting spaces of doubt for the politically-inclined listeners and the wider public who hoped for a clearer vision of the current administration’s achievements and direction.
