Democrats are back at it, claiming that Republicans will take voting rights away.
The Daily Caller reported, that Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold says Republicans plan to attack Americans’ right to vote if they are able to win this year’s midterm elections.
Maybe by the attack, Griswold means bolster. Republicans aim to strengthen elections ensuring that only legal citizens are able to vote in federal elections.
They mean to ensure that photo ID verification is carried out as nearly all Democratic western nations do.
“What we can expect from the extreme Republicans running across this country is to undermine free and fair elections for the American people, strip Americans of the right to vote, refuse to address security breaches, and, unfortunately, be more beholden to Mar-a-Lago than the American people,” she said while being interviewed by the Guardian.
Democrats use this “right to vote” in order to strike fear into their voters. If they believe that their right to have a say is in danger, they will vote for whoever they believe is defending that right, which happens to be Griswold.
This is called fear-mongering. The left also does this when they call Republicans or Donald Trump, Nazi’s and Fascists.
They take these words that have despicable historical contexts and attempt to project the actions of attitudes of the historical figures in those roles onto current politicians. All this serves to do is dilute the words.
Joe Biden, the President of the United States recently called his Republican opponents “semi-fascists”.
He explained, “It’s not hyperbole, now you need to vote to literally save democracy again,” Biden said in an attempt to extract support from the fear of his voters.
His press Secretary later explained further.
“You look at the definition of fascism and you think about what they’re doing in attacking our democracy, what they are doing in taking away our freedoms…our voting rights,” Biden’s press Secretary said after the President’s comments.
