Citywide Robbery Spree Sweeps New York, Police Seek Suspect

Authorities suspect that a single individual is accountable for a string of burglaries, totalling at least 10, in various parts of the city. The local police department is seeking the aid of the public in recognizing a person of interest connected to multiple break-ins in diverse commercial establishments across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Officers report an incident occurred on the early hours of Sunday, Dec. 1. An anonymous figure infiltrated Pressed Juicery situated at 329 Lafayette St. in Manhattan. After accessing the premise, the person absconded with an sum of cash, the exact value of which has not been disclosed by the police.

Another event was noted on the morning of Thursday, Dec.12, around 3:20 a.m. An unnamed person gained unauthorized entry to LIC Nail & Spa located at 23-01 41st Ave. in Queens. The intruder pilfered $500 from the locale’s cash register.

Moving closer to the weekend, on Saturday, Dec. 14, a similar incident was reported. At 3:20 a.m., an unidentified party accessed Serendipity Nails and Spa placed at 1628 2nd Ave. in Manhattan. From the place of business, the perpetrator absconded with $300.

Officers were notified of another break-in incident on Wednesday, Dec. 18, early in the morning. The address of the burglary was 632 Grand St., situated in Brooklyn. On this occasion, the unidentified thief obtained $300 in addition to a number of electronic items.

Commendably fitting the definition of ‘Grinch’, an inscrutable individual proceeded to break into the Hawa Restaurant, located at 1151 2nd Ave. in Manhattan, two days prior to Christmas, on Monday, Dec. 23, late in the evening. Shortly after Christmas, on Saturday, Dec. 28, at roughly 4:40 a.m., another intrusion was reported. An unnamed person trespassed into Athena’s Nails, located at 31-11 30th Ave. in Queens. The suspected looter allegedly confiscated money amounting to $3,500.

In the up and coming new year, on Sunday, Jan. 5, an early morning burglary was documented. The unnamed individual is believed to have broken into Piccolo Nails, situated at 42-23 35th Ave. in Queens. Departing with an empty safe, the looter left nothing but the damage behind.

The following day, Monday, Jan 6, nearing the evening at around 7 p.m., yet another intrusion was reported. This time, the Himalayan Nails and Spa, situated at 1471 Myrtle Ave. in Brooklyn was the site of the suspected burglary. This time, the alleged burglar supposedly seized nail supplies and a hefty sum of $4,000.

The crime spree seemed to persist on Wednesday, Jan. 8, later in the evening, another break-in was reported. The commercial property violated was Sushi Meshuga, based at 1637 East 17th St. in Brooklyn. The perpetrator is believed to have decamped with a register containing $750, and a secured box, the contents of which are not specified.
