Chef Evans Advocates for ‘Make America Healthy Again’ Initiative Amid Kennedy’s Cabinet Nomination

Evans, an emphatic supporter of Donald Trump and RFK Jr, has been enthusiastically lobbying for Kennedy’s induction into Trump’s cabinet, which is scheduled for a confirmation vote this week. He has been in active discussion with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, sharing his vision of leveraging his paleo-based recipes to launch a unique initiative under the banner of ‘Make America Healthy Again’ on a government-run website. This proposition from Evans comes on the premise of Kennedy’s potential confirmation as US secretary of health and human services.

The once renowned Australian chef, now embroiled in conspiracy theory controversies, unveiled these suppositions during a podcast he attended several weeks ago. This event also served as a platform to publicize a new children’s recipe book he has authored, linked to an organization associated with Kennedy.

Evans’ connection with Kennedy and Trump isn’t recent but almost a bond that has developed over the years. Tracing this back to 2020, Evans interviewed Kennedy on his own podcast, marking the beginning of their professional relationship.

Since 2023, Evans has confidentially shared news about his ongoing cookbook project with the Children’s Health Defense, under Kennedy’s chairmanship. His contributions to this non-profit organization that Kennedy led from 2015 to 2023 has further cemented their association.

Within the framework of this podcast discussion mentioned earlier, Evans, the Aussie native, went ahead to explain his proposal to Kennedy. He caters the idea of a dedicated US Government portal that could host and share his wholesome recipes with the larger public audience.

Whilst explicitly stating that Kennedy is yet to reciprocate to the innovative idea he pitched, Evans was found euphoric about Kennedy’s prospective nomination. Evans shared his insight into understanding Kennedy’s priorities in policy-making.

He speculated that Kennedy might eventually decide to eliminate governmental financial support for high-fructose corn syrup. This product, along with others that use pesticides, is amongst the top beneficiaries of government subsidies. Evans seemed to suggest that Kennedy could promote more sustainable options such as organic foods and regenerative farming systems.

Evans opined, ‘In different parts of the world, including the US and Australia, there has always been financial support from governments for cereal crops, seed oils, high-fructose corn syrups and comparable products. However, we might be on the dawn of a new era where this could change.’

His upcoming cookbook, ‘Healthy Food for Healthy Kids: 120 Simple, Nourishing, Gluten- and Dairy-Free Recipes Your Whole Family Will Love’, is awaiting publication. The book is characterized with paleo and keto-friendly meals that are touted to be a hit amongst kids. Intriguingly, the book includes recipes for baby broth, quite alike to a controversial recipe that led to his previous cookbook publisher severing ties with him in 2015.

The cookbook includes authentic recipes that caused a stir in 2015 for wrong reasons, leading to his publisher eventually parting ways. Particularly, the health groups had expressed their concerns about a specific recipe in the book – baby broth, that could potentially cause harm or be fatal for infants.

Evans, albeit gradually, is making his way back into the limelight. His appearances are becoming more frequent and noticeable with each passing day.

Quite interestingly, this recrudescence of Evans directly aligns with the election campaigns of Trump and Kennedy. Evans has been overtly expressive of his excitement and optimism about the constructive changes the pair might bring about.

Evans enthusiastically shared, ‘In my opinion, once Bobby — I believe not if, but when he does — secures his position, we would observe some significant solutions arising swiftly.’
