“Bronny James had a cardiac arrest during practice yesterday,” reported the family representative in a statement to the media. “He was swiftly attended to by medical staff and transported to the hospital. Bronny is now in a stable state and has been moved out of the ICU.”

The James family expressed a desire for privacy and respect in their difficult time. They further extended their profound appreciation to the medical and sports team of USC for their relentless commitment and superior work in ensuring athlete safety.

On Tuesday, The Athletic confirmed that Bronny had moved out of the ICU and was stable. Fox News reported the incident took place at the training ground of the Trojans, with their 2023-24 season slated to begin later this year.

Respecting student privacy, a university spokesperson refrained from commenting on the situation to Fox News.

Bronny, an established basketball player like his father, had committed to USC earlier in May, favoring the Trojans over Ohio State and Oregon. Ranked as the 33rd player in his class, Bronny was declared a McDonald’s All-American earlier this year.

During his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School in California, he made an impressive contribution, averaging 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, leading the school to a 95-22 record. As per reports, Bronny is expected to be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft.

Bronny, a four-star recruit, displayed his talent in the March McDonald’s All-American Game, competing against top high school players nationwide. LeBron, proud of his son’s commitment to USC, expressed his joy on Instagram, “So damn proud of you, kid! I have no words besides I LOVE YOU!!!”

LeBron, now 38 and about to start his sixth season with the Los Angeles Lakers and his 21st in the NBA, has publicly voiced his dream of playing in the NBA alongside his son.

He had previously told the Athletic in 2022, “My last year will be played with my son. Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”
