This week a black school resource officer was fired from his job after using the “n-word” on two occasions.
ABC’s 2KUTV claim:
“A Florida police officer, who is Black, is out of a job after his body camera captured him using the “n-word” while on duty, according to the Tampa Police Department.
White’s use of the n-word is against the department’s policy that prohibits discriminatory conduct. On Nov. 13, 2020, while on a phone call, White’s body cam recorded him referring to a group of people as “ghetto n******.”
While the department justified his firing by citing his use of the N word as “discrimination” it would appear more reasonable to classify the word “ghetto” as discrimination.
After all, why would the officer have a prejudice against people who look like him? It seeks to make almost no sense.
On the other hand referring to someone as “Ghetto” could be considered discrimination on the basis of class and wealth.
The chief of the Tampa Bay Police Department said “Derogatory statements made by police officers jeopardize the trust that our department works to establish with our community. Tampa Police officers are held to a higher standard and incidents like this negatively impact the entire law enforcement profession”.
