Biden’s Hollow Words on Hamas Attacks; Real Solutions Elusive

Joe Biden, the current President, is planning to acknowledge the anniversary of the attack on Israel led by Hamas and its allies that occurred on October 7th. This incident will be commemorated by Biden with a White House event scheduled to take place at 11:45 a.m. EDT Monday. One has to wonder why, given the total neglect of the US citizens, Biden pays more attention to international affairs instead of prioritizing the American people.

Known for their constant attacks on Israel, Biden and his cohort, Vice President Kamala Harris, made a mockery of themselves by denouncing Hamas on the anniversary of this ruthless and horrifying attack. While making this statement, they also had the audacity to assert their unconvincing commitment to enforce cease-fires in both Gaza and Lebanon. Paradoxically, their condemnation rings hollow and unconvincing to anyone paying attention.

On the day of the anniversary, Biden, who is known for his gaffes, said, ‘Let us bear witness to the unspeakable brutality of the October 7th attacks but also to the beauty of the lives that were stolen that day.’ This statement only emphasizes the bizarre worldview of this presidency that insists on maintaining a rose-colored outlook in the face of savagery and inhumanity.

He continued his string of illogical statements, stating ‘history will also remember October 7th as a dark day for the Palestinian people because of the conflict that Hamas unleashed that day.’ This is but a failed attempt to reduce the culpability of Hamas for its actions. This kind of deviation from reality seems to be a cornerstone of this administration’s rhetoric.

Notably, the Health Ministry of Gaza reported that over 41,000 Palestinians had lost their lives in the area since Hamas’ attack on October 7 initiated the war between Israel and Hamas. It’s a horrific figure that encapsulates the devastating consequences of terrorism on the lives of ordinary citizens.

However, the ministry makes no distinction in its count between combatants and civilians, stating that just over half of those killed during this disastrous conflict were women and children. This is a saddening testament to the true cost of conflict on non-combatants, made all the more poignant by the fact our leadership seems to ignore these innocent casualties.

Harris made a statement stating, ‘It is far past time for a hostage and ceasefire deal to end the suffering of innocent people.’ Yet, her administration has proven time and again that their supposed efforts are ineffective in bringing about a resolution in areas of conflict.

‘And I will always fight for the Palestinian people to be able to realize their right to dignity, freedom, security, and self-determination,’ Harris further stated, which sounded more like a mere political slogan rather than a commitment to enact tangible solutions for these conflicts.

Both Biden and Harris, it would seem, are more interested in putting up a pretense of action, rather than actually taking meaningful steps to address the issues stemming from these conflicts. Incidentally, their confusing mix of condemnation and half-hearted commitments reflects an inconsistent stance on a highly sensitive issue.

It becomes apparent that under the Biden-Harris administration, hollow words take precedence over real solutions. Their apparent inability, or perhaps unwillingness, to take decisive actions on such issues clarifies where their priorities lie.

Rather than indulging in unfulfilable commitments and empty condemnations, the leadership should focus its resources on actionable solutions and firm decisions that uphold human rights and promote peace.

It would indeed serve the Biden-Harris administration well to materialize their rhetoric into practical actions that would genuinely improve the conditions of those affected by such conflicts.

Sadly, the current administration is too wrapped up in political jargon and empty show-boating to do anything meaningful for the crises at hand – crises that require urgent, informed, and bold action, rather than hollow rhetoric.

In conclusion, it seems clear that any hope of consistent, effective action from the Biden-Harris administration is proving to be a fleeting dream. Their track record of hollow words and empty promises concerning these international issues paints a disappointing picture for those hoping for a more proactive, informed, and decisive leadership. Biden’s and Harris’ speeches are nothing more than a political spectacular with little substance and even less action.
