The agent reacted admirably, firing shots that made the potential assassin drop the rifle and flee in an SUV. While the suspect was apprehended in a nearby county, it’s the subsequent investigation that is likely to draw attention. The FBI has deemed this incident an ‘attempted assassination’.
Biden, once more, found himself urging the nation to lower the political vitriol in the aftermath of the failed hit on Trump. The frequency of these occurrences under Biden’s reign adds fuel to doubt about his ability to rein in the territory’s increasingly hostile political landscape.
‘I have always insisted that there is no room for violent behavior, political or otherwise, in our country, and my team has been instructed to make certain that the Secret Service has all the necessary resources to protect the former President,’ was Biden’s response.
