Biden’s Administration Suffers Backlash From Fat Joe On Healthcare Transparency

Fat Joe, a renowned rapper, who had previously offered his support to Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign, expressed gleeful approval over President Donald Trump’s stand on healthcare price transparency, refraining from naming Trump in his statement. ‘An executive order on healthcare price transparency has just been enacted,’ the rapper announced through his Tuesday social media posts. ‘Without a trace of politics in this matter, we should all focus on doing what’s right for each patient, worker, business, and union in our nation.’

Fat Joe was highly critical of the American healthcare system, that hides its costs and arbitrarily sets its prices. This, according to him, is a form of robbery against the American population, describing it as un-American and unethical. Now, with this order, he claims we have a cause for jubilation and sends his gratitude towards all those who have been supportive of this movement.

Although Fat Joe did not specifically address Trump in his praise, it was clear that he was referring to Trump his tribute. The former President had made an effort to fortify a prior order he released during his initial term. The order, designated as Executive Order 13877, aimed to reform the American healthcare system, centering primarily on price and quality transparency, as well as putting the interests of patients first.

Trump’s recent mandate, according to his proclamation, seeks to support the revolutionary efforts to make patient’s interests a priority by mandating healthcare providers and plans to offer significant price information to the American populace. It was more than evident that the order deemed the then Biden Administration as lacking the needed robustness to enforce transparency in drug pricing fully.

Trump without mincing words called out former President Joe Biden to account for failing to adequately enforce his Administration’s directive that intends to bring an end to the obscured nature of pharmaceutical prices, asserting that the enforcement would make health plans-publicly reveal the actual prices paid for prescription drugs. The alleged inadequacy by Joe Biden’s Administration was notably pointed out, stressing the need for utmost enforcement and implementation of the healthcare price transparency policies under Executive Order 13877.

Under his executive order, Trump directed the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services secretaries, demanding that they swiftly implement and enforce the stipulated regulations in regards to healthcare price transparency. The collective effort by these key departments was thought crucial to shedding light on the previously obscured pricing schemes, offering the general public the opportunity to be properly informed.

However, the confirmation of Trump’s selection for the labor secretary position, former Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer from Oregon, is still to be agreed upon by the Senate. This has caused a sense of impatience and concern regarding the rapid implementation and enforcement of the newly mandated healthcare price transparency regulations.
