Biden & Harris’ Venomous Rhetoric Incites Violence, Trump Asserts

Joe Biden

The FBI and local authorities recently thwarted an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, by another disturbed individual. Fortuitously, due to the professional conduct of law enforcement agencies, no one suffered any harm. However, in a bold diversionary tactic, Trump immediately pinned the blame on Biden and Harris’ rhetoric, a claim that was brought up during his discourse on Fox News Digital.

Trump made a rather audacious claim that he was being shot at because of the deleterious verbiage constantly spouted by Biden and Harris. He went on to say that he was the one destined to rescue the nation while the Democrats were leading it towards its downfall. This accusation was a convenient tactic to shift public attention from the issue at hand.

What’s remarkable about Trump’s statement is how it beguilingly saves commentators time, as they no longer need to collate accusatory quotes from fervent Trump supporters. These often hail from relatively obscure proponents of the MAGA doctrine, and their engagement rarely fosters productive discussion. Instead, Trump has conveniently put forth the point himself, embodying the fundamental cynicism that often imbues such narratives.

In his bizarre perspective, Trump suspects the label of being a ‘threat to democracy’ incites people towards violence. While there is an iota of plausibility in this claim, concrete evidence linking his political indictments to motivation behind assassination attempts is scarce. It’s also worth noting that troubled individuals could be prompted towards violence by extreme claims in a populous nation.

The audacious argument, however, tends to crumble when scrutinized critically. Trump and his supporters appear to have a selective aversion to incendiary rhetoric – objecting only when it is aimed at Trump himself. However, when the same harsh language is directed towards Biden and Harris, they hardly bat an eyelid.

Examining Trump’s ire, we see that he denounces Biden and Harris as ‘destroyers of the country’, and various other unflattering epithets. As per Trump, the real issue does not stem from the fear-inducing language that might incite violence; it surfaces when people start to believe his opponents’ aggressive narrative about him, rather than trusting his own rhetoric about his political adversaries.

In fact, he incessantly warns that the election of Harris, who he unflatteringly labels as a communist and fascist, will lead to the downfall of the country. It manifests a striking inconsistency in his logic. While they are quick to condemn ‘hateful rhetoric’ directed at Trump, they seem unfazed by his vitriolic language aimed at others.

Drawing a comparison between the claims that Harris will ‘destroy’ the country and that Trump being a ‘threat to democracy’ reveals no significant difference, besides being mere opinions. However, there is a tinge of truth when it comes to people – including those unstable – finding allegations against Trump credible. One cannot ignore his past actions or declared intentions when assessing their plausibility.

The truth of the assertion that Trump poses a threat to democracy is pivotal in understanding if it can be deemed extreme. If it aligns with truth, then it is a merely accurate depiction. Conversely, if it’s a baseless accusation, it’s then a malevolent exaggeration to mislead people, much like the proverbial false cry of ‘Fire!’ in a crowded theater.

In the backdrop of this assassination scheme, there was a storm of controversy surrounding baseless allegations by Trump and JD Vance about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio. Their spurious claims incited fear and hostility, leading to school closures and threats against Haitians. Oddly though, any criticisms towards these reckless statements are seldom heard.

It’s noteworthy to remember how conservatives once strongly condemned attempts to hold politicians accountable for the actions of madmen. When Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords endured a shooting incident in Arizona in 2011, many liberals were quick to point fingers at Sarah Palin, which conservatives vehemently protested. In a twist of irony, several conservatives are now seen mimicking liberals in their defense of Trump.

Once staunch critics of victim-blaming, many conservatives have now seemingly embraced this tactic in their backing of Trump. This pivot only fuels the claim of their being double standards within their ranks, which appears more pronounced while discussing the divisive rhetoric and its potential applications.

The shifting tides of political posturing have exposed a wild inconsistency amid conservatives who once defended Sarah Palin against unwarranted allegations, only to happily deploy a similar strategy in favor of Trump. If duplicity were a tangible substance, much of it can now be discovered swirling around in the political sphere.

Thus, as we navigate through this complex discourse, it’s important to strip away the hypocrisy and address the core issues at hand. Inflammatory rhetoric, irrespective of the source or the intended target, is detrimental to society’s fabric. It’s pivotal to focus not merely on the words, but the implications of their impact on a larger scale.
