President Joe Biden was once again caught using a printed cheat sheet, this time with answers to questions related to his comments on Vladimir Putin.
While in Poland on Saturday, Biden declared in Warsaw that Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power”.
On Monday, the President told reporters he made “no apologies” for his remarks, which were not part of his prepared speech in Poland.
“It’s more an aspiration than anything. He shouldn’t be in power. There’s no — I mean, people like this shouldn’t be ruling countries, but they do,” Biden said. “The fact is they do, but it doesn’t mean I can’t express my outrage about it”.
On the notecard Biden held, the first question read “If you weren’t advocating for regime change, what did you mean? Can you clarify?”
The answers said “I was expressing the moral outrage I felt towards the actions of this man” and “I was not articulating a change in policy”.
“I was talking to the Russian people. The last part of the speech was talking to the Russian people, telling them what we thought,” Biden explained.
On the card was also a question about the reaction from the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who said he would not have used Biden’s words.
Biden has been seen using a notecard several times in the past. He was caught with one shortly before the 2020 election, during his first presidential press conference, and during a 2021 summit with Putin.
