During his Friday Earth Day speech, President Biden said the modern day Republican Party has become a “different breed of cat”.

While delivering the address in Seattle, Washington, Biden pointed out that there is usually no division in the Democratic Party because 48 senators vote in his favor “94 percent of the time”.

He also mentioned two Democratic senators, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, who have repeatedly voted against him on legislation.

“But we virtually have no Republicans, there’s some, we get up to as many as seven or eight who’ll vote,” Biden said.

“This ain’t your father’s Republican Party. Not a joke. All you gotta do is look at what’s being played this morning about the tape that was released. Anyway, all kidding aside, this is the MAGA Party now,” he continued.

“You’ve got the senator from Texas and others, these guys are a different breed of cat. They’re not like what I served with for so many years and the people who know better are afraid to act correctly because they know they’ll be primaried,” Biden added.

Biden was reportedly referring to leaked audio where House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy allegedly told House Republican leadership that he had “had it” with former President Trump and that he was going to recommend that Trump “resign” after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

The president also signed an executive order to create the first inventory to protect old-growth forests on federal lands and combat deforestation, Reuters reported.

Biden said the order would “strengthen our forests on federal lands and make them and the local economies they support more resilient in the face of wild fire”.
