ASU Rally Against Rittenhouse Drowned Out By ‘Lets Go Brandon’ Chant

After Rittenhouse revealed he was an online student at ASU, four groups demanded he be booted from the school. The groups include Students for Socialism, Multicultural Solidarity Coalition, Students for Justice in Palestine, and MECHA de ASU.

Calling him “Murderer Kyle Rittenhouse”, the students planned a rally for Thursday. Flyers for the event were shared online, reading “KILLER OFF OUR CAMPUS” and demanding the university “protect students from a violent, blood-thirsty murderer”.

The schools administration later revealed that Kyle is not currently enrolled at the school. According to ASU, Kyle was previously taking non-degree-seeking classes though he wasn’t fully enrolled in nursing school.

According to the school he isn’t a student any more but seemingly not as a consequence of pushback from other attendees.

When the students held their rally on Thursday, they were met with counter protest. “LET’S GO BRANDON” chants drowned out the anti-Rittenhouse rambles.

Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges after the prosecution failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he had broken the law.

There is no legitimate grounds to bar a person from attending a State University on the basis that they are a “murderer” when that individual has been found not guilty of murder.

On top of this, Rittenhouse, to the knowledge of the protesters was only a virtual student. Kyle wouldn’t necessarily have to step foot on ASU’s campus.

Despite this fact the protestors claimed that his alleged enrolment made them feel unsafe. The “protest” feels more like a spite campaign against Kyle Rittenhouse who is and always was the victim of the situation.
