Representative James Comer, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has unveiled a third memo detailing foreign business engagements involving the Biden family.
The memo, consisting of 19 pages and featuring redacted bank records, claims that Hunter Biden and his associates received substantial payments from Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs while Joe Biden served as Vice President.
According to the memo, millions in payments were allegedly sourced from Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, as well as Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina and Kazakhstani oligarch Kenes Rakishev.
The document also suggests that Joe Biden participated in dinners alongside these individuals.
The memo asserts that Joe Biden had in-person interactions or conversations with these individuals or their representatives, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and undue influence.
The “Third Bank Records Memorandum” follows two earlier memos connecting Biden family members to payments tied to Chinese and Romanian entities.
The committee alleges that these foreign payments to the Biden family have now accumulated to over $20 million.
Comer emphasized that during Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Hunter Biden utilized his family’s name and connections to secure millions from oligarchs in Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
The memo delves into specific bank records linked to Hunter Biden’s companies, including Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC; Rosemont Seneca Thornton, LLC; and Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC.
Screenshots of bank records are presented in the memo to support claims that large sums were wired to these entities, with connections drawn between the payments and various individuals, including Baturina, Rakishev, and others.
The memo contends that these payments were made for purported access to the Biden network and asserts that little evidence exists to suggest that actual services were provided in return.
The memo points out occasions when Joe Biden dined with individuals who had reportedly sent money to his son.
Comer expressed the committee’s intention to continue seeking witness testimony to ascertain whether Joe Biden knowingly permitted his son’s foreign business transactions.
The minority staff spokesperson on the committee, however, dismissed the memo as “empty” and maintained that it doesn’t implicate President Biden in any misconduct or wrongdoing.
The spokesperson highlighted that the bank records provided do not show payments to Joe Biden or suggest any involvement by President Biden in Hunter Biden’s financial dealings.
