Middle School Principle Demands Teachers Support Palestine

In Brooklyn, a middle school principal is under fire for urging teachers and administrators alike to “demand government sanctions on Israel”. According to the New York Post, there is a pending probe by the school’s independent investigator.

“You can take action today by protesting, attending a vigil, making a public commitment to Palestinian Liberation, signing a petition, or calling your government officials to place sanctions on Isreal”, Principal. Amanda Bueno said in an email, misspelling “Israel”.

The fighting between Israel and Hamas has since come to a ceasefire, no thanks to this freedom fighter principal.

A Jewish teacher from the school told the New York Post, “I opened the email and I was in shock. I felt very targeted and very attacked by her words.” The Left preaches that discourse must be non offensive and politically correct. This rule does not apply when they are the ones speaking out.

“These resources she provided, it’s propaganda,” the teacher said in reference to hyperlinks included in Amanda Bueno’s email.

Israeli supporter and Brooklyn attorney, Inna Vernikov, said, “New York law forbids requesting or encouraging any public servant, city employee, or subordinate public servant/employee to engage in political activities,” in a letter to the Department of Education. Vernikov has been very vocal about her support of Israel. She demanded that Principe Bueno be reprimanded.

Vernikov believes that such an email demanding political support raises serious concerns from parents and teachers. Teachers may feel “intimidated or afraid” to speak out against demands, or counter them out of fear of losing their jobs.

“Schools are not public forums for purposes of political expression, and staff may not use DOE resources in the furtherance of personal or political activities,” a spokesman said.

Parents in the area are frustrated and have given informal complaints regarding the situation.
