At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Tom Homan, the Trump administration’s Border Czar, delivered a forceful address highlighting the administration’s intensified efforts against illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.

Homan lauded the administration’s achievements, stating that the U.S. now has “the most secure border in my lifetime.” He emphasized a significant reduction in illegal crossings, reporting a 95% decrease, and noted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has conducted over 21,000 arrests in recent weeks.

Criticizing sanctuary cities for providing a “sanctuary for criminals,” Homan announced plans for a broader interior crackdown. He declared the administration’s intent to designate Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations, warning that collaborators would be aiding a “terrorist organization.”

Homan underscored the necessity for robust cooperation between federal and local agencies. He admonished officials who refuse to hand over individuals suspected of crimes to ICE, portraying them as harboring violent offenders. He issued a stark warning: “If you’re living in the country illegally, you better start packing now.”

Specifically targeting cities like Boston, Homan criticized the release of criminals back into communities instead of transferring them for deportation. He vowed to pursue offenders who have evaded federal action, ensuring they are “locked back up.”

To bolster enforcement, Homan proposed leveraging resources across multiple federal agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. This coordinated approach aims to enhance arrests and prosecutions in areas with high violent crime rates.

Homan concluded by aligning moral imperatives with national security interests, pledging relentless efforts until “every criminal alien, every gang member” is apprehended and removed.
