Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has expressed his excitement and honor regarding President Donald Trump’s attendance at Super Bowl LIX, where the Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This marks the first time a sitting U.S. president will attend the Super Bowl.

When asked about the president’s attendance, Kelce responded, “That’s awesome. It’s a great honor. I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there—it’s the best country in the world—and that’s pretty cool.”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared a similar sentiment, stating, “It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president. Someone that is at the top position in our country.”

These comments come months after President Trump criticized Kelce’s girlfriend, singer Taylor Swift, for her public endorsement of former Vice President Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign. In a September appearance on “Fox and Friends,” Trump remarked, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She couldn’t… you couldn’t possibly endorse [President Joe] Biden.”

Despite the past criticism, Kelce emphasized the significance of the president’s attendance at the Super Bowl, focusing on the honor of playing the biggest game of his life in front of the nation’s leader.
