First Lady Melania Trump has expressed her condolences following the tragic mid-air collision near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:

“My heart goes out to those impacted by last night’s terrible tragedy. I pray for those who so sadly lost their lives, their families & loved ones, & the first responders who have worked tirelessly through the night. May they find strength and solace in this difficult time.”

The accident involved American Airlines Flight 5342 and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter, resulting in both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River. Authorities have reported no survivors among the 64 individuals on the passenger plane and the three personnel on the helicopter. Recovery efforts are ongoing.

President Donald Trump also addressed the incident, stating that he had been fully briefed and was monitoring the situation. He extended his gratitude to the first responders for their efforts.
