Grimes’ Struggles in Custody Battle with Elon Musk

Claire Boucher, better known as Grimes, is sharing some personal insights into her recent life happenings. The acclaimed artist shed some light on both her upcoming creative projects and the ongoing custody dispute with Silicon Valley magnate Elon Musk, 53, concerning their three children – X Æ A-Xii, 4, Techno Mechanicus, 2, and Exa Dark Sideræl, 3.

She chronicled her struggles over the prior year, detailing how she endured a bruising fight in a jurisdiction famed for its unfortunate mothers’ rights records. Her social media content was frequently used against her, presenting her as an unsuitable mother – an experience she found both disheartening and unfair.

‘In the past year, I was trapped in a grueling legal fight in a state with unfavorable mothers’ rights, where my posts on social media were leveraged as a basis for denying me custody of my children. All the while, I was reluctantly confronting the reality that the man I loved deeply was evolving into a stranger before my eyes, and with scarce resources compared to him,’ Grimes expounded.

She revealed the heart-wrenching fact that she had not laid eyes on one of her offspring for nearly half a year. ‘I was separated from one of my children for five painful months. And what I’ve disclosed publicly barely touches the surface of the ordeal I’ve been through these past years – much of the experience is still too raw and private to be shared,’ she continued.

In a subsequent conversation, Grimes responded with candor to an inquiry from a fan, wondering why she could not attend court hearings while caring for a young child. The fan also questioned what was preventing her from releasing new music during this challenging period.

‘The grim reality of potentially losing your children while fighting financial ruin in custody battles is hardly a fertile ground for creativity.’ This was her poignant response. ‘Throughout that year, any time not spent directly battling for my kids’ rights was spent weeping or in fitful sleep,’ she added.

Elon Musk’s family extends beyond his children with Grimes. In total, he has twelve children with three different women. From his marriage to first ex-wife, Justine Wilson, he became father to six children.

Their first son, Nevada Alexander, tragically passed away at a tender age of 10 weeks back in 2002. Subsequently, the pair were blessed with twins, Vivian Jenna and Griffin in 2004, followed by triplets, named Kai, Saxon, and Damian in 2006.

Adding a layer of complexity to the situation, Grimes’ mother, Sandy Garossino, made controversial claims in July. She accused Musk of deliberately preventing her daughter’s children from visiting their great-grandmother placed in Canadian palliative care.

Garossino, who is well-known as an opinion columnist, shared her concerns through a series of social media posts. ‘As there seems to be no other way to reach you, I resort to making a public plea here,’ she stated.

She wrote, ‘My 93-year-old mother, who is currently in end-of-life care, desperately longs to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. She yearns especially for the youngest grandchild, whom she hasn’t been introduced to yet.’

Garossino’s concerns culminated in a worrying claim about passport control. She shared, ‘I find it disturbing to know that the children cannot travel back since you are withholding them along with their necessary passport documents from Claire,’ she alleged.

Further escalating her concern, Garossino expressed shock at spotting Musk on televised Olympic coverage after his trip earlier in the week. ‘It was deeply unsettling to witness you at the Olympics on TV after your earlier trip that week,’ she iterated.

Ultimately, Sandy Garossino’s question mirrored the worry of many: ‘Where are the other kids and who are they with right now? They are supposed to be with their mother. We were expecting them to join us here in Canada.’
