Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” has announced her departure from X (formerly Twitter) after facing backlash for meeting with President-elect Donald Trump. Brzezinski, along with her husband and co-host Joe Scarborough, met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, a move that drew criticism given their previous characterization of him as a “fascist” and a threat to the republic.
In her final post on X, Brzezinski stated, “I’ve decided to leave X, but I’d love to keep the conversation going.” She acknowledged the public’s reaction, noting, “I think just for a quick moment I might be the punching bag for that.” Brzezinski invited her followers to join her on Bluesky, a platform favored by those seeking alternatives to X.
The meeting with Trump has sparked internal debates within MSNBC and the broader media community. Brzezinski defended the decision, expressing a desire to engage directly with the President-elect amid widespread concerns. She remarked, “People are really scared about Trump’s comments about political adversaries… I would have no illusions about that. I am glad it happened.”
Since Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 5 election, far left wing democrats have been leaving X to Bluesky, which is just a left wing echo chamber.
