Donald Trump’s roaring comeback was evoked in a ten-word campaign advertisement, saying, ‘Kamala stands for them; President Trump stands for you.’ Unveiled shortly after his unprecedented showdown with Kamala Harris, the ad managed to strategically place a spotlight on two crucial topics: Kamala’s 2019 endorsement of employing taxpayer money for gender reassignment surgeries for incarcerated individuals, and her continued backing for trans-athletes in women’s sports.
The advertisement ignited a stream of heated conversations, particularly among the followers of the widely-listened-to broadcaster, Charlamagne Tha God of The Breakfast Club. Charlamagne expressed strong disapproval on air, questioning the idea of using taxpayer funds for prisoners’ gender transitions. Wasting no time, Trump’s team revised the ad, adding Charlamagne’s candid comment into the mix, which only escalated the ad’s reach and impact.
Indeed, this advertisement received such monumental reception that it pushed the electoral race in favor of Trump by a significant 2.7 percentage points. It found particular resonance with African American, Latino men, and white suburban women audiences. Given my cogitations penned in various columns regarding the adverse impact of coerced trans advocacies, specifically on women’s rights, the magnitude of this outcry is not surprising.
While it was largely concerns surrounding the dilapidated economy and the escalating crisis of illegal immigration that majorly bolstered Trump’s landslide victory, the Democrats’ fixation on peddling ill-conceived perspectives fueled the public ire all the more. If anyone is curious about the astounding scale of Trump’s victory, one cannot dismiss the public’s growing intolerance for ideological notions that they deem detrimental and nonsensical.
I earnestly assert that this momentous win implies the abrupt end of ‘Wokeness’ – a term coined by Elon Musk. It signals a collective dismissal of the virtue-signaling and identity politics that had pervaded American society over the recent years. This school of thought tends to label itself as ‘progressive’, but its effects have proven anything but, causing a regressive trend.
The so-called liberals who often term Trump as a fascist, ironically, reveal fascistic tendencies themselves. They have repeatedly exercised a form of intellectual coercion, ruthlessly ostracizing anyone who fails to conform to their rigid worldview. Their deed grossly contradicts their creed of being liberals, making them look like caricatures of the concept they claim to embody.
The ‘woke’ folklore romanticizes losers, venerates weakness, and repels strength. However, Americans, who had put up with this baseless rhetoric for quite a stretch, finally decided they had had enough. They rallied behind Trump in increasingly surprising numbers, cutting across age, race, and gender divides, recognizing that he personifies a deep-rooted belief in common sense.
The electoral outcome presents a clear message: when a political party condones biologically born men outmuscling women in sports events, such as the Paris Olympics, while claiming to champion women’s equality and safety simultaneously – the ‘woke’ harbinger faces its tipping point. Trump’s intent to prohibit trans-athletes in women’s sports and prevent children from taking puberty blockers aligns with the views of a significant majority. And holding such views doesn’t equate to transphobia.
Moreover, there’s a shared consensus among most people about the need to control illegal immigration and deport those with unlawful presence, with an enhanced focus on those with criminal backgrounds. The liberals’ penchant for labeling this viewpoint ‘racist’ has lost its merit in the dialogue. Those screaming for preference for pronouns are irrelevant to those who struggle to put food on their tables.
The ad declaring ‘Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you’ resonated widely because of this disconnect. If there were a defining moment that sealed the election for Trump, it was arguably when he picked himself up after being shot, bloodied but undeterred, rallying his supporters by shouting, ‘Fight! Fight! Fight!’ That brave moment changed many perceptions; Trump was suddenly the man with heart and willingness to fight for his compatriots.
Trump’s moment of defiance in the face of adversity showcased a compelling display of mettle and mental fortitude. It altered many Americans’ view of him, facilitating them to see him as a valiant fighter with an unyielding spirit, something that resonated deeply with a populace yearning for strong and sensible leadership.
With his victory, we are witnessing what could be one of the most significant political rebounds in history. It marks a collective sigh of relief from the tiresome, warped ideology that had for too long, wrestled with common sense in the public consciousness. And it is this triumph over ‘wokeness’ that we should all be celebrating.
Ultimately, as the world starts to regain its footing from a perceived maelstrom of twisted ideologies, we all can breathe a sigh of relief. Sentiment, once again, aligns with common sense, paving the way for a more grounded, sensible world. And for that, we are all infinitely grateful.
