Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki, an active volcano in a secluded part of Indonesia’s Flores Island, remained volatile on Friday, spewing ash and debris in the sky days after an eruption claimed nine innocent lives and injured multiple. On Thursday, officials extended the danger zone to an 8-kilometer radius, necessitating more evacuations and adding to the woes of thousands of residents of at least ten villages already affected by the calamity. No additional casualties have been reported during these recent disturbances.

His daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales, announced her cancer diagnosis in close succession and is gradually resuming her public duties after completing chemotherapy. Buckingham Palace announced that both Kate and the king are set to participate in the Remembrance Day ceremonies on Sunday, a tribute to those who have lost their lives in World Wars and subsequent conflicts.

A group of 43 Rhesus macaque monkeys managed to escape from a medical research facility in South Carolina. According to the local police chief, the incident holds ‘almost nil’ danger to the public. The escape occurred due to the negligence of a new employee who didn’t completely seal their containment area. Facility workers have sight of the escaped primates and are using a combination of traps and thermal imaging cameras for retrieval. The authorities have suggested residents to keep doors and windows closed and to reach out to 911 if they spot the monkeys.
Pompeii, the ancient city known for its sudden and dramatic end, tells harrowing stories through its preserved figures, petrified in their last moments. Instances like a mother clutching her child, two women hugging as they perished under layers of volcanic ash, are ambiguous tales narrated through centuries. However, newly evaluated DNA evidence proposes a different storyline, challenging our contemporary perception. The person initially perceived to be a mother was, in fact, a man and had no biological relation to the child. Additionally, one of the two people in the poignant hugging pose was male.
