Bloomberg Desperately Backs Harris, Misses Mark

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, in a striking move, backed Kamala Harris for President on Thursday. His support, however, seems to be more of a polite formality rather than a genuine conviction. ‘Though I rarely see eye-to-eye with Kamala Harris on policy matters, I recently found myself reluctantly casting a vote in her favor,’ stated Bloomberg.

His endorsement came with an attempt to highlight the purported differences between Harris and Donald Trump. He tossed out a plea to ‘wavering voters from all political arenas’ encouraging them to support Harris. Notably absent were the voices of those who find Harris’ views problematic or unsatisfactory.

Bloomberg, an affluent man known for his liberal use of money in politics, recently wrote a $50 million check to Harris’ campaign. On this occasion, he contrasted their stance on various issues like abortion, gun control, and environmental issues, seemingly bending over backwards to reconcile the starkly contrasting positions.

In an ironic twist, he labeled Harris’ approach to economic matters as ‘because politics’, suggesting that her stances were expedient rather than grounded in reality. Yet, he still bizarrely insisted they were less harmful than those of Trump, a president with a proven track record of stimulating economic development.

His advocacy for Harris also encompassed a significant piece of his communication dedicated to critiquing Trump’s character, especially his response to the events of Jan. 6. His choice of insults was regrettably unoriginal, reducing the United States—a nation universally acknowledged as exceptional—to the status of a ‘banana republic.’

In Bloomberg’s skewed perspective, ‘For [Trump], nothing is more important than his own conceit and glorification—not America, not our constitutional rights, not democracy, not the rule of law, and not the lives of law enforcement officers or any other citizen.’ This caricature of a leader fits more closely with the arrogant elitism of Biden and Harris than it does with President Trump’s commitment to putting America first.

It becomes increasingly clear that this endorsement does little to bolster Harris’ standing, and instead, seems more like a failed attempt to disparage President Trump. Painting a distorted image of the former President, it diverts attention away from the radical agenda pursued by the Biden-Harris administration.

Despite the cash influx from Bloomberg, Harris’ policy positions continue to meet with resistance from Americans who prefer the security of their constitutional rights over a politically correct narrative. Despite mainstream media’s efforts, her lack of popularity continues to be unavoidable.

Whether on topics of 2nd Amendment or unwavering advocacy for unlimited abortions, Harris exposes her fundamentally different understanding of freedom compared to what most Americans appreciate. Her policy proposals, viewed by many as excessive and dangerous, don’t resonate with a significant portion of the American public.

Bloomberg’s endorsement of Harris comes across as a desperate attempt to make her more acceptable to those on the fence. However, profound policy differences are not easily erased with mere words and monetary contributions.

His endorsement does little to persuade the undecided voters who are wary of the price they will pay for Harris’ ‘politically driven’ economic positions. The potential damaging effects of Harris’ policies seem to be clearly understood by them.

As it stands, while Bloomberg may have hoped to build up Harris’ image, his endorsement seems only to underscore the deep divides in American politics today. His views, while clearly intended to deliver a knock-out blow to President Trump, merely highlight the skeptical attitude of many who question Harris’ suitability for the presidency.

In his quest to diminish Trump’s character, Bloomberg sadly falls into the same trap as many others. The image of Trump in his eyes unintentionally mirrors a caricature, a hollow beast created by mainstream media, detached from the reality of a President who fought tirelessly to uphold American values.

Hence, the endorsement provides a revealing example of the power of narratives and how they can distort the truth. It showcases the struggle of the Biden-Harris administration in getting widespread acceptance, as well as highlighting the divide between their policies and the desires of many American citizens.

Therefore, while Bloomberg’s endorsement may have been made with the intention of promoting Harris and denigrating Trump, its impact is questionable. It only seems to confirm what many already know—there’s a stark and worrying divide between the Biden-Harris administration and a significant part of America’s population, a divide which no amount of money can bridge.

In conclusion, despite the mainstream narrative, it becomes clearly evident that not everyone is on board with Bloomberg’s perspective. His attempted belittlement of President Trump in favor of Kamala Harris—notwithstanding the hefty price tag attached—may cater to a certain section, but it struggles to find universal acceptance amongst the American populace.
