Biden’s Ungraceful Exit: A Misstep for Democrats

The decision of Joe Biden to retreat from the presidential race and pass the responsibility onto Kamala Harris certainly doesn’t carry the positive impact it’s touted to have for Democrats. The expected ignition to the voter base, particularly among Black and female voters, is greatly overestimated and certainly doesn’t compete with the dominant conservative voice echoing throughout the nation. Although the mainstream media has gladly seized the opportunity to switch the narrative away from their relentless pursuit of Biden’s suspected mental and physical incapacities, their focus remains biased, to say the least, laying unnecessary emphasis on the only courageous and assertive voice in the contest, Donald Trump.

It took the media a tiresome three months to shift the narrative, but Trump’s unflagging spirit refused to let them overshadow his campaign. As is customary, the mainstream media seemed to give prominence to undoubtedly the least significant aspect: Trump entertaining the crowd with comments about famed golfer Arnold Palmer’s masculine display in the communal showers. Encapsulating Latrobe, PA’s pride in Palmer, Trump portrayed him as ‘all man’, a seemingly lighthearted comment espousing machismo.

In contrast, Trump reserved his more scathing remarks for Harris. Compared to Palmer’s ‘all man’, the media seemed less interested in highlighting the harsh truths about Kamala. At the Latrobe’s rally, Trump’s exhortations against Harris fell harshly upon her hollow status, ‘We can’t stand you, you’re a less than satisfactory vice president.’ The crowd cheered as he clarified, ‘Kamala, you’re fired, get out of here, you’re dismissed.’ A truth that’s surely difficult for Harris to accept but one that resonates with the American people, nonetheless.

The week witnessed Trump’s limitless energy and unabashed human presence. A notable incident occurred at his Monday rally when a medical emergency in the crowd led Trump to turn to music to maintain the spirit of the event. For a good part of 39 minutes, he swayed and danced to assorted tunes such as ‘Ave Maria’, ‘It’s A Man’s World’, ‘Hallelujah’, and ‘Memory’ from ‘Cats’, proving that spirit and human connection, rather than cold political machinations, carry the day.

Interestingly, the media tried to flip this moment of connection with ordinary citizens as a sign of Trump’s supposed mental decline. Politico eagerly reported insiders describing Trump as ‘exhausted,’ conveniently leaving out that even the most energetic of individuals need rest, critics might wonder. Might there be a touch of bias seeping into the media narrative, again?

Then comes the case of Trump’s fearless voice in mobilizing his supporters to get out and vote. Boldly, he calls out slothful laziness in the form of humorous, unfiltered language. ‘Jill, get your lazy husband off the couch,’ he commands in his candid style. His comments serve as a refreshing jibe compared to the sterilized political scripts we have grown used to hearing.

The mainstream media seemed to jump at the chance to label Trump’s assertiveness as a sign of his decline or derangement. However, could it be that they are simply not used to a politician who speaks their mind as frankly as Trump? ‘Trump’s age is catching up with him,’ the Washington Post hastily concluded, while AP drew attention to Trump’s jovial comments at the Latrobe rally.

Nevertheless, Harris relished the chance to spin the week’s happenings and slant toward an erroneous depiction of Trump’s communication. It’s indeed a clever attempt to spot and highlight what she perceives as his unfitness for office, though the majority of the electorate might not agree with her viewpoint.

With polls reflecting a stalemate between the two parties, the hazard doesn’t lie just in the prospects of Trump securing another term, but also in the very real likelihood of the President handing off his role to running mate J.D. Vance, due to circumstances unforeseen or obliged. A possibility even more disastrous than a second Trump tenure.

Vance, the seemingly welcoming face of radical conservatism, finds backing from technology tycoons and champions of anti-democracy, Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. While Trump may not fully grasp the intricacies of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, pundits suggest that Vance might have a unnerving familiarity with its objectives.

Much like the Republican’s assertion that an affirmation for the 81-year-old Biden implied endorsement for Harris, Democrats could argue that approval for Trump implies support for Vance. Unfortunately for them, though, Vance finds little favor among the electorate, particularly the younger female demographic.

Luckily, the majority of the population holds progressively conservative viewpoints, leveraging the idea that not everything peddled by mainstream media and politicians such as Harris holds water. Many factors come to pass as mere propaganda, shrouded in half-truths and unease.

Indeed, Trump’s resolve shows signs of unyielding power amidst a sea of media biases and allegation whirlwinds. His endurance coupled with his unnerving forthrightness signals a promising route for the right-wing foundation.

Despite the attempts of misdirection and misrepresentation from figures like Harris, many can see through the political plays hidden beneath the surface. The voices of the people remain voluminous and commanding in their demand for resilience and truthfulness in the political arena.

In essence, the week did leave a significant mark on Trump’s image. However, it would be hasty to call it a ‘terrible’ week for him. Harris might continue to spotlight what she considers ‘stumbles’ with persistent diligence, as might certain corners of the media.

Yet, an increasing number of staunch supporters and vocal conservatives carry Trump’s campaign forward with fervor. Despite any attempts by Harris and the media to underscore his stumbles, they are resolute in bringing Trump’s vision to light.
