Despite facing backlash for his commencement speech earlier this year, Harrison Butker’s product sales surged rather than suffered. Data from the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), covering merchandise sales from March 1 to May 31, revealed that Butker ranked 11th among all NFL players for officially licensed merchandise sold. He even outperformed high-profile names like Travis Kelce, Aaron Rodgers, and Josh Allen.
This marks Butker’s first appearance in the NFLPA’s top 20 sales list, making him only the second placekicker, following Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson in 2022, to achieve this milestone.
In response to criticism over his speech, where he defended traditional gender roles and critiqued President Biden’s abortion stance, Butker stood firm, saying, “I’m going to stand behind what it is I’m saying,” while emphasizing that his focus remains on football during the season.
Additionally, Butker signed a historic contract extension during the offseason.
