Invasive injuries and burns compelled 11 of the survivors to be rushed to the hospital. The boat had initially set sail from Labadee, a northern coastal commune in Haiti, with the destination being the Turks and Caicos Islands, situated roughly 150 miles or 240 kilometers to the north.
