Trump Files Motion For 3rd Party Review Of Seized Documents

Former President Donald Trump has filed a motion to appoint a “special master” to review documents seized from his Palm Beach home by the FBI

The purpose of this 3rd party special master would be to determine if the documents are indeed classified or if possessing them could harbor legal conveniences.

ABC reported, The motion from Trump seeks an injunction that would bar the government from any further review of the seized materials until the appointment of a special master, and also requests a “more detailed” receipt from the government of items that were seized.

Trump claims that all taken documents were declassified under his administration, though this claim hasn’t been verified yet.

According to a Justice Department spokesperson, the DOJ is aware of the motion and will respond to it in court.

The raid on his home has actually caused the former President to soar in the polls.

Decades ago, if News broke that the FBI had raided the home of a potential Presidential candidate this likely would not boost their likelihood of getting elected.

In today’s political climate, this certainly isn’t the case. It appears that most conservatives believe that the FBI raiding President Trump’s home was an abuse of power, and an attempt to persecute a political opponent.

Since the news broke that Mar-a-Lago was searched by a swarm of federal agents, Trump is actually higher in the polls. He now has a 10-point boost over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Trump will also have evidence in a court of everything that happened at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

It was previously believed that all surveillance cameras at the residence had been turned off, as it turns out this is what the FBI requested, but the family did not comply.

Eric Trump revealed that most cameras were rolling during the 10-hour raid and that the footage would be released at the right time.

This could prove to be a big leg up for Trump.

We already know that at least some of the seized documents were not classified at all. At the top of the list was a grant of clemency for Roger Stone which is public information and can be viewed on the DOJ’s website.

The FBI also reportedly took three passports belonging to Trump before later returning them. Two were current and one was expired.

He wrote on Truth Social, “Wow! In the raid by the FBI of Mar-a-Lago, they stole my three Passports (one expired), along with everything else. This is an assault on a political opponent at a level never seen before in our Country.”

It’s hard to imagine any legitimate reason to seize these documents unless the DOJ believed he would flee the country which is unlikely.
